It’s great to be back outside practicing and observing from life with my art buddies. You don’t just make a painting but you come back with stories of crazy adventures and bizarre events. I absolutely love it. This year I am refraining from entering any competitions and just doing it for the pure joy of being outdoors and using the studies for large abstract paintings. After taking a fantastic workshop with Scott Gellatly through Winslow Art Center, I feel like I have the tools to take my plein air and fuse it with my studio work. I have learned so much and been so inspired I have decided to take another workshop with Scott via zoom. This is the best way to get instruction from some of the best artists that would not have been as accessible.
